Providing Public Service with Integrity
Adam E Frerichs - Sheriff
The Cheyenne County Sheriff’s Office is committed with courage, honor and integrity to protect the lives, property and rights of all people, to maintain order and to enforce the law. We are responsible for the professional care and custody of those confined to our jail, the security of the courts and the prompt investigation of crimes. It is our mission to maintain, while striving to improve, the quality of life and freedoms we enjoy and to ensure that our county is a safe place to live, work and visit. We shall dedicate ourselves to treat people with respect, fairness and compassion.
National Law Enforcement Memorial Day
In 1962, President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15th falls, National Police Week. National Police week pays special recognition to law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. This year National Police week runs from May 12th through May 18th. Please join us in honoring those officers from around the country that have paid the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting. The Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office has a permanently dedicated page to honor those that have lost their lives in the line of duty while serving with the Cheyenne County Sheriff's Office. Please visit our Ultimate Sacrifice tab in honor of Sheriff James M. Nelson and Deputy Jailer Randy Z. Haddix.
Caution! Harvestseason is upon us which means you are likely to encounter large, slow moving equipment on the roadways. Please use caution when meeting or passing equipment, especially on county roads!
